Neither can you repeat registration of a birth in order to legitimise a second identity or indeed subsequent multiple identities. However, it is perfectly legal to call yourself anything of your choosing provided that it is not in the interests of fraudulent or criminal purposes in general. Finally, you can officially change your surname by deed poll but not your forename(s) since under English law at least they are considered to be the names given to you by God!
Hope this helps.
To make things easier you can get certified copies of the deed poll, which can be used (together with the old birth cert) whenever proof of ID is required.
