My friends don't like going out any more, they'd rather stay in and sit on the sofa. We used to go out every weekend, now it's more like once every 3 to 6 months. We're in our mid 20s. I love going out and get so bored staying in all the time. I feel like i'm wasting my younger years! (I can sit on the sofa when i'm an OAP!) Help! What can i do?

Get some more friends that like going out!!

Maybe go out with some people from work or people you have been aquainted with for years but have never been on a night out with.

Just because your best friends stay in doesn't mean you have to stay in with them all the time. I hardly ever go out drinking with my best friend nowadays, I go out with other people but when I do go drinking with him it makes it that much better.

Oh, and good luck by the way........

I think some pleasures can go in phases and perhaps your friends just don't feel the need to be going out spending money, etc. like they used to. Perhaps they now have mortgages, or are saving up for houses and their priorities have changed. Perhaps they'd rather just ring a glass of wine on their own smoke-free sofas rather than spending double the price to drink one in a smoke-filled pub!.

Don't drop your friends. Still enjoy their company when they're available but widen your own horizons and try other activities such as swimming, line dancing or even taking up a new interest at evening classes when you might make new friends..

Do you want to be my friend and go out with me?! I've been saying the exact same thing lately - i dont remember the last time my friends and i went out for a proper night out. i'm nearly 21 and they all seem to have given up. It seems like i'm the only one who's bothered about it too. If you find out a way to get them out let me know and i can maybe use it on my friends! Lol!

Thanks for all posts. I don't think there's any hope of getting these friends out, except on the odd special occasion. I have taken up a new hobby to try to prevent boredom but yes, i think the only way to go is finding some lively people to go out with (of course i won't drop my stay-at-home friends!)

Alixw - yes i will be your friend and go out partying with you! :) I bet you live at the opposite end of the country though!
