I know true well Ummmm - if it had have happened today I would have got thousands for pain, anguish, mental, trauma and so it goes on. No compo was based on it being "flesh". Sometimes I do recall that it could have been much worse as I could have lost my eye that night so I am grateful it was my leg. How did we get here £200 to being shot hahhah LOL

in one of the newspapers (can't remember which), a currency constant used to compare historical values was the mars bar.
in 1972, they were 4p each (the decimal equivalent of 9d, which is what they'd been at decimalisation the year before). £200 would have bought 5000 bars. Today to buy the same amount would require £2950.00, using the price of 59p each (at ASDA).
