Need to find photographic location in SE London

I'm sure (I hope) this is absolutely obvious to someone. I'm looking for a view towards City of London down a motorway cutting from a bridge. Steep walls on either side of the road giving a tunnel effect snaking towards the city.

It's quite a famous location for filming/photography and probably a popular suicide spot! Looking at the map it could be Frognal Corner on the A20. It must be in that area somewhere?

ps It is not my intention to commit suicide!

Have you tried Google Earth?In major cities you can zoom in on houses et al.

Maybe thats too obvious but its what I would do.

I think your description fits the A102 (M) as you head down from Kidbrooke to Greenwich towards Blackwall Tunnel. There are concrete walls on either side as the road heads downhill and in the distance one can see the buildings around Canary Wharf and the Millenium Dome and further on the Post Office Tower.

Sorry - I thought Google Earth would give you an idea where to go but Henneth has local knowledge which counts for more.

Try the view facing south from the Archway. Drive under the bridge and see what you describe pretty well.

Thanks Henneth, I'll have a look at the A102 at Kidbrooke, you could well be right, although my initial instinct was that it was further out.

Paul, the Archway and Suicide Bridge are North London, not South East
