When is it classed as hoarding rather than just having a messy bedroom?

Many of you know of my son's medical history so I won't go into details.

Many thanks

when you have piles and piles of stuff and keep acquiring more.... I have piles and piles of stuff, it's been a close margin sometimes, but I haven't brought anything new (or used) into the house for some years now, I'm just dreadfully messy.
simple division. Can he/does he throw things away easily?
an illness when there is so much rubbish, that you have nowhere to sit, stand, lie down safely.
I would say hoarding would be the inability to let go of particular things, almost OCD type behaviour.

Messy is simply just the same way as we have all been at times, stuff which could be cleared up within an hour or so without any angst.
i know someone who was as i have described, same as those poor folk you see off the tv, it's a nightmare and a real health hazard.
Yes. Hoarding is collecting or being unable to throw away stuff you don't need. "messy" is just things out of place.
