How can you 'Sit back and relax'? Hardly confidence inspiring, with phrases like 'Click Finish to continue Starting W98' and when it's up and running, you click the START button for SHUTDOWN. How mad is that? Does anyone out there have a good word for Micrasoft, apart from devious?

It keeps me in a job. There are plenty of alternatives: The Beautiful Mac and the Tecchie Linux to name but two.

as an MS employee, I have lots of good words for Microsoft!! Anyway, ditch Windows 98 and go to Windows XP.....

I never used to have anything nice to say about Microsoft while I used Win 3.11, 95, 98, 98SE or ME. Now that I have XP however, I'm far more lenient. Six months with no BSOD! And I only turn my machine off about once every three weeks to give it a bit of a rest. Although, I'm not happy about having to pay for support if you have an OEM copy of Windows. Not for myself, 'cause I've never had to use it, but I think it's a bit underhanded.

Virtually every new PC comes with an OEM copy, and all newbies are going to have SOME kind of problems, so why not just let them have the support. The cost of the Windows must be somewhere in the cost of the PC, surely?
