Moving Home
27 Answers
Talking with friends last night about how many times they have moved home and even around Britain to live made me realise what a sheltered life Ive led LOL. Since meeting my now husband in 1974 Ive only moved towns once, from Birmingham to Bridlington and only moved house in Bridlington 3 times in 40 years marriage. We have been in our present home 25 years.
How about you Abers. Are some of you still living in the same house you were born or are you always on the move ?

Moved at eighteen months to Newcastle-under-Lyme.
From there to flat in Hanley for two years.
Married the present Mrs Hughes and moved into her house in Hartshill for 20-something years.
Moved to current home in Trentham six years ago.
Probably will move once more before popping clogs.

LOL sp1814.
I cant imagine staying here in Brid for the rest of our lives now theres nothing to keep us here apart from a few friends. When we are both retired within the next few years we would like to move perhaps to the Lake District where we like to walk and hope to live out our days there. Friends and family can come and visit just like they do with us now ( cheap hols ! )

I shouldn't have looked at this thread...lol.
After doing a quick finger count, and thinking 'that's not enough',I ended up looking at street maps for NYC/Brooklyn-as most of my moving was done in the US.
It was a bit scary.....21 times from birth to move here ...then another 6 moves in the UK.
The longest I stayed in any place was...20 years in house I grew up in,11 in the house ex and I bought in Bedfordshire, and 7+ where I am now. And I'm sure I will move again.
