We do like to mark the anniversary of when we got together though. Nothing fancy, usually just a conversation along the lines of "x years together then?" "did you think all those years ago..." etc etc.
I'm like you sher, I do like a fuss for birthdays. If Mr P were to forget mine there would be a riot.
And I couldn't give a fig about Valentines day (although I will admit to liking a card).

Always did - usually a family party - until recent years when my wife has not been very well.
Sadly we were unable to get her out of the nursing home for a trip to our daughters as she was taken ill at lunchtime on the very day - July 12th - our 66th anniversary.
Things worsened and my sweetheart passed away on Monday 22nd.
Tough to take when your 90 - but I have so many wonderful memories.
So, all you youngsters, cherish your partner.
