Steroid Injections

I am 31 weeks pregnant and currently abroad. I am flying home on the 3rd August and my doctor here has prescribed me 2 steroid injections in case I go into premature labour on the flight. They have to be taken 12 hours apart but as I had the first one at 13.15 (my time) I need to have the second one at 01.15 tomorrow morning. The only way of getting this injection is to turn up at A&E. The trouble is I can't drive myself there and my husband is out at a non-negotiable business meeting tonight. He might be back by 1.00 but as its Ramadan meetings are done at night it may go over. Can anyone advise if it would be a problem if I left it until, say, 03.00 latest?

I cannot see that a couple of hours delay will make the slightest difference.

This is not my field, but I cannot understand how steroids can suppress the onset of labour, unless we are talking about pituitary steroids.

Perhaps someone can explain
I don't think it's to prevent early labour, just to help strengthen the baby's lungs if it does arrive early
pixie.....right.

Thanks. Yes, sorry, should have said - the steroids are to strengthen baby's lungs just in case.

I'll hang on for hubby then. Cheers.
meglet....ah! that makes sense.
