Under the Labour administration roughly one prisoner a week was let out of prison by mistake. Under the Coalition, 140 have recently been freed in error.
At the time Tory MP Dominic Grieve blamed the cock-ups as a direct consequence of Labour's incompetent mismanagement of the justice system.
Can we assume then that the latest bungles are down to Coalition incompetence?

sir.prize might be able to confirm the source for the story; I did a keyword search 140 prisoners freed in error and it returned just one recent article from the Sun, which is where I assumed Sir.Prize has sourced the story;
