Work Uniforms ?

OUr catering tops are quite heavy cotton for safety reasons they say and its so annoying when admin staff etc come in for lunch in lovely summery outfits, keeping nice and cool.
Do you have to wear a suit or uniform for work and do you love or hate it. My son used to feel quite proud to wear a suit when he first started work but now he hates it, especially working in London

but the three of us are locked away in an office and not customer facing so pretty much wear what we want :-)

No uniform and have to be smartly dressed.

Personally i would be very happy to have a uniform as I resent having to pay for two wardrobes - I very rarely wear my normal clothes to work having a seperate set of clothes designated 'for work'.

I have to wear a shirt and tie with smart pants. I can chose the material, fit and short or long sleeved. Shirt can not have a design or logo. I tend to buy them at George at Asda, they wear and was well and cheap. Fit for purpose.

as i am an office bod with no access to real people, i could presumably wear a bikini if i wanted to. However, i keep to smart casual for professionalism. Unlike CD i wear the same clothes at home and work

I`m quite happy with the uniform. I`d hate to have to buy clothes for work and think about what I`m wearing every day. I hate ironing the blouses though and the handbag drives me mad.

I work in a kitchen also. Heavy chefs jacket in winter...white cotton polo now. I'd die of the heat otherwise. Feet still encased in socks tho....:-(

in a previous life my uniform had optional blue or pink shirts, no one went for the pink, not even the ladies, supplier was left with a lot of pink shirts. Management decided to withdraw the choice and issue only pink, a lot of unhappy staff was the result. Pink yuk.

I hate being told what to wear and have only once worn a uniform since leaving school, when i was a student nurse. I don't think my clients would care if i turned up in pyjamas (and i know people that have!)

We used to wear whatever we liked on building sites but now, thanks to H&S and compo culture,we're weighed down by an ever expanding list of 'clobber'.
