Weight Lifting And Blood Vessels
6 Answers
I'm on medication that apparently relaxes the blood vessels.
I'm weight lifting and following all the correct procedures of weight lifting like breathing correctly, ( obviously not taking steroids) if the vessels in my body are more relaxed does that mean they are more likely to rupture under the stress of lifting weights, or less likely?
I understand that there are tiny capillaries that can burst when just sneezing and stuff but I'm talking about the larger vessels like in the brain.
I do sometimes feel dizzy when I'm lifting weights.

Medication that relaxes blood vessels, applies to the larger blood vessels and these have strong walls certainly not top be compromised by weight liftling.
HOWEVER.....if there is a weakness(maybe at birth) of one of the blood vessels, particularly of the brain..........then damage....may...just may ensue following weight lifting. An outside, long shot 1000/1 chance..........

The incidence of training-associated cerebrovascular accident (CVA) in the weight room is so low as to be statistically unmeasurable.
which is kinda reassuring
and that I think answers your q doesnt it ?

and got:
Scholarly articles for aneurysms in weightlifters
… dissection in a young weightlifter with non-Marfan … - Hogan - Cited by 8
Multiple aneurysms and aortic dissection: an unusual … - de Virgilio - Cited by 2
wh is hardly an epidemic
I agree that weightlifters do keel over
but it is hard to say what effect their steroid abuse has had - in the ones that keel over that is
