Cancer Insurance

I am going on a trip in jan part cruise 18 days and the rest of the two weeks I have arranged my own hotel and flight home.
I have completed a successful chemo for lung cancer following an operation. I have been told by the Oncologist I am fit to travel following several scans. I am not on medication .
My problem is that I am having the greatest of difficulty in getting basic travel insurance with some companies quoting over £1900!!!
I am thinking of not declaring it on my standard travel insurance from my bank.
It's not as though I could have a 'cancer attack ' like a heart attack and could get myself repatriated fairly easily.
Anyone got any companies I could try?
Thanks to anyone who could advise...

He was not going to get a cancer attack or need treatment whilst on holiday.
He travelled to EU countries with an E111. Approx 6 times in 18 months.
They did not take valuables with them. Obtained cash from the local ATM's.and went to places where they knew if the luggage did not turn up they would go and buy what was needed. They lived through the war so knew not much was needed in a crisis.
They enjoyed their last couple of years together.
When he received a letter from the hospital with the diagnosis he was actually in Australia on The Gold Coast.
This was our family's experience. Hope it helps.

My parents usually use Orbis insurance which specialises in existing medical conditions. Mum's had breast cancer and Dad's got a heart condition. The company bases insurance premium on your responses to a series of questions. They always declare everything and on the one occasion they had to cancel the holiday found the company dealt with their claim really quickly.
