Hi all, I want a wifi pc for when I am away from home,( on holidays/breaks away) mainly for emails but also for some browsing. ( not films or games ) I have been looking at an Asus Eee X101 ,netbook, which is WiFi and has W7 starter installed and is small enough to fit in a small cabin flight bag. It's only around £179,( Amazon,Argos) so is a price I can afford. Any comments as to it's suitability etc. much appreciated, P

I've had a Samsung netbook for some years and love it - the keyboard is comfortable for typing long documents, the screen is big enough for comfortable browsing and it's very portable.
Good for holidays and the garden, and a good backup should my desktop go kaput.

Also consider a tablet - I have a Nexus 7, perfect for browsing and okay for typing short emails. Very light and portable.
I've got an Acer Aspire One, which I find great for checking up on emails (and answering a few AB questions) while I'm away, so I'm a fan of netbooks. The model you're considering might well suit your needs but I'd be a little concerned about its short battery life of "up to 4 hours". (My Acer netbook comes in two versions; I've got the slightly dearer one, with a more powerful battery, offering around 11 hours of use per charge). It was also designed for a completely different operating system to Windows, with the Windows 7 almost being an afterthought (so it's not clear as to how well it actually runs Windows).

If you'd consider a 'manufacturer refurbished' netbook, from an extremely reputable eBay shop, something like this might suit your needs well:

Hi, hc4361, thanks for reply, I don't really want a tablet. Buenchico, thanks I am not worried to much about battery life as most of the use will be in hotel Wifi areas and I can then put it on charge while I'm out and about. I've looked at your suggestion but unfortunately they don't deliver to Spain. ( I want one with English keyboard so cannot buy local)
