Is this not final proof, that no matter what the hand-wringing PC liberals on AB might say, the EDL are capable of attracting members who are willing to engage on discussions on Islam in a calm and considered manner?

Thank you for confirming hat no photo of film evidence of the mythical "Death to British Troops" banner exists.

Being frightened of a demonstration is understandable. But the demonstrators are not breaking the law.

Good point...

Do the EDL have a recognized membership application process, or can people simply turn up?
I don't even call them English deffence league. I call them English Drunk league as that usually suits them more.
Well I wouldn't call them the English Deference League.
It always sounds like a body to defend the English language.:) After all, why is it the English and not the UK or the British Defence League? Is that because they don't regard British people of foreign origin or descent as true citizens whereas English suggests an exclusion of such people?
chrisgel, I agree with you
seeing is believing, not to mention there are pictures out there in a similar vein. Plus video footage of poppy burners, and so forth, some people don't seem to like the military, some don't even seem to like our way of life, except perhaps the benefits they live on like Anjem Choudary, an able bodied man who was once a solicitor, so he could get a job, why isn't the DWP down on him like a ton of bricks, as they are doing with so many, some of whom are in a far wore state than Mr Choudary
Gromit, Chrisgel and i both posted similar, some who live here don't seem to share our values, some seem to actively hate us, why do you think that is.
I am English and these uneducated, inarticulate and stupid thugs do not speak for me. Soccer hooligans in all but name.

Why do you always try to read into things, things that don't exist.

I am no expert but it doesn't take an expert to understand why it is called the 'English' Defence League, simply because a group of ENGLISH people are protesting against the rise of Islam in ENGLAND, and I presume anyone who resides in England is welcome to join, which I believe some Sikhs have done just that.
Didn't little Tommy want to change it to European Defence League failry recent?

How does that sit with you AOG?

The EDL don't speak for me, but neither do the fools on the other side of the divide, choudary sadly can't be sent anywhere as he is a national.
skip to 2.50s These clowns are no worse than the EDL. Especially at the end where they gang up on EDL members.

indeed
AOG, I was under the impression that they were founded to keep foreigners out, immigrants , and keep Britain, or England, pure and Anglo-Saxon and that it was only recently that they'd chosen to direct themselves against Islam.

Maybe, given that, they should now call themselves The Crusaders or the Anti-Islamic League?
