i did watch it. It seemed design to raise the blood pressure, that's for sure!
It made me think that when my family had been on the housing list in Tottenham for some time, my dad did something about it. He started a self build group and built us a house.
It just showed you what mass immigration has done to our country, especially when a British women was waiting outside of the front door of a flat and the women before her looking inside first was wearing a burka and offered it!
I thought it was very objectionable when they invited six potential tenants to view at the same time for only one available property, surely this would provoke people and there is bound to be an easier way rather than having to face the other people who are hoping to get the property, very embarrassing and downright horrible.
I though it was awful that 1 family were offered & refused several properties although they already had one.
They refused cos they wanted big kitchen, parking space (although they didn't even have a car!) ect & eventually got a brand new place.

whereas the man bringing up his 2 grandchildren was eventually offered a house in need of dire repair & had to fix it up himself.

In my borough you are only allowed maximum of 3 offers(some circumstances even less) before going to the bottom of the list again.

sillie, I agree with you. To add salt to the wounds, the Granddad you mentioned never wanted to move, but had no option as his home was being demolished.

At the end of the program it said the council had now changed the rules to
*3 refusals and you go to the end of the line*.
i also didn't like the "everyone turn up at once" thing - it seemed horrible. I didn't have much sympathy with the granddad i'm afraid. Also, i had a great admiration for the council workers who were telling people with a straight face that they were"1500th" on the list for that particular house

bednobs, I felt sorry for the staff also, they must have to be thick skinned.
