everything has gone up in price, if it hasnt gone up in price the item has got smaller in size for the same money.
Maybe baked goods and a lot of other foods are still affected by last summers disastrous weather which caused grain prices to skyrocket.
Prices going up I don't have a problem with, although I'd prefer they didn't, but this practice of reducing the content and not bothering to mention it, is just a con IMO!

Yes the smaller items is another con!

When we first retired we felt quite comfortably off having been in jobs with low wages life seemed a lot easier.

I don't know how were going to sustain all these price rises.

Supermarkets will make sure they cash in at every opportunity...thieving worsits.
2/- is a big hike - used to buy a book for that.
Go to Lidl or Aldi. Lidl 'bakery' bread is lovely

Thats what I mean shoota.

I guess being an oldie means I mentally convert it into old money!

Tilly, Aldi is 12 miles from me and Lidle 2. We have tried the bread there but no overly fond of it.
Favourite is Tiger Bread.
nah, it's not old money, it's real money.

I like Lidl, I did pop into the Co looking for a few things which they don't stock, and imo, should.
My local Co doesn't even have a check-out person at the conveyor checkouts anymore.
hi albs xx what winds me up is "downsizing of goods" they all put their prices up 50p or a £1 and then take 50gms of weight off the item don't know how they get away with it!!
Have you seen the size of the wagon wheels. They should be called mini wheels.
