Been a bit off colour for the past week with headaches and dizzyness even in bed. Today the doc has booked me in to see another doc in the practice who can do the Epley manoeuvre, or show me how to do Brandt-Dorf exercises. It seems I have Benign Paroxysmal Positional vertigo BPPV (for short). I wondered what these are about.

Thank you, I'll look it up sqad. I've never heard of it before but when I mentioned it to someone this morning they said it was a weird sensation and you haven't to lay down for 48 hours or sleep on the affected side. I'm assuming this is it a one-off procedure and the exercises are to keep you stable.
Yes, I had it done last year, it gave great relief and (touch wood) I have not suffered another episode of dizziness and tinnitus. I will warn you though it did make me feel very nauseous during and about a couple of hours after...but doc prescribed me Stemetil to take after which relieved that.

Thanks pp I wondered what it would be like. I feel a bit off-colour as it is, I was told it wasn't pleasant, but as long as it works. Thanks everyone.
