pay pal scam?
I have had a quick response for a 3 piece suite i advertised on Gumtree. The chap wants it, unseen, gave a story about this being a surprise for his wife & says a carrier will collect it. He wants me to e mail him my Pay pal details. For some reason I'm suspicious. What might go wrong? Are there scams about with these circumstances?

dont do it. I got caught this way. Paypal may show the funds as being there and then you find that they have hacked into someone's account. Because you didnt post it to a verified address they will wash their hands of it. If they guy wants it in a hurry he must send cash.

I saw a scam similar to this on another web site.
Guy was selling a laptop, a person came round to pick it up by hand and paid by pay pal.
Later in the day person who bought laptop me guy claimed his pay pal account had been hacked and the pay pal took back the money.
Guy lost his laptop AND his money.

denis. that is all I gave and I was still defrauded. The money appeared to come in and transfered to my bank. But, it then emerged that the person owning that account had not made the transaction and paypal froze it. I then ended up with no money and no goods. Paypal is ok if you are posting things it seems but not if you give the goods to someone at that door as you dont know who it is and neither does paypal.
