Why Use The Terms "part Ex" And "part Exing" Rather Than Part Exchange?

Why does James Cordon use the terms "part ex" and "part exing" rather than "part exchange" in the new we buy any car TV advert?

I don't think for a minute that it's to make the advert slightly shorter in length to save them money on TV advertising.

Is it something to do with their marketing team or Google adwords???

They probably use the phrase Part-EX because the phrase is in common usage and will be understood by the public.

The term part-ex has been common parlance since at least the early 1980s when I used to change my car every few years and I think will be recognised by all those interested in buying a car. I think it's an attempt by JC and the advertisers to appear friendly/matey rather than too formal

Been used for years, we even used to write P/X on the receipt , lazy I know but.....
