Honeymoon List
I'm getting married in July and traditionally a list would be circulated with items on it, unfortunately we're going travelling in October and apart from not being able to take much with us, we have everything we need in the terms of toasters et al.
What we'd really like is for guests to contribute to our honeymoon and I need to know a) where does this, ie, can people buy vouchers for us? and b) how do we ask for this?
Its driving me a bit mental!!

my friend is getting married in july. they have already set up home and have 2 children (they have been together years!) they are asking for thomas cook vouchers and cash. its not cheeky, its simply what they need. i'd rather give them money then have to worry endlessly if what im buying them is wrong! although they would never tell me if it was! and so everyone is happy. if anyone kicks off and says they are not doing that then just simply suggest that they make a donation to a charity of their choice.
Congratulations, Monkey girl!
You should certainly be able to make known what gifts you would like to receive. Your family and friends will probably help you to get the word out. And if there are any engagement or gift parties coming up, it is certainly fine for the hostess to mention your request in the invitation.
I should say, my wife attended a party once where the only gifts requested were for gardening. The couple getting married needed nothing except gardening tools. We were glad to be able to contribute to whatever the couple wants.
It is perfectly proper for you to make your wishes known!
I found the site for First Choice. They have a Wedding Gift Service tab on the right.
