TV this morning saying don't send people to jail for shop lifting and fraud my answer to that is jail them and stop all contact with there familys and no phone calls when they are in side see if they want to go back then the system we have got is to soft on them

I think the idea is worth trialling. So many of these burglars offend again when they come out. Prison breeds a life of crime. Other solutions need to be explored

someone already mentioned this, for those who are victims of crimes like burglary would suggest that it's not a petty crime, and they are usually repeat offenders...

Of course they could always go back to the days when people were sent to jail for punishment and see what happened after they'd spent a few months without any privileges at all. Just hard work, and the rest of the time banged up in a small room.
