Dishwasher Question
19 Answers
I set the dishwasher going and a few minutes later there was a bang and everything on the same circuit went off.
I flipped the switch and all is back on including the dishwasher but it won't function so I guess it's the motor.
There is also a bad smell of burning...I don't feel like emptying all the water and cleaning up tonight...anyone know whether it's unsafe just to leave it unplugged and sort it in the morning?
I do have smoke alarms but don't fancy waking up to a fire.
I probably need recommendations for a new one too...think this is quite old.

Think I will find a little independent tomorrow and, apart from being sure of good after care, I can persuade them to deliver before I run out of cups. x

Glad to hear you're buying from an independent store. Got mine from Curry's and had nothing but hassle with them when it broke after 3 months.
It also never washed properly and I'd have to wash the glasses separately, after they'd already been in the dishwasher. Useless.
We've got a Smeg one now and it's brilliant. Everything comes out as it should, sparkly!

I would concur. If it hasn't burst into flames as you look at it then it'll be fine unplugged overnight. I shall look with interest on the recommendations since I keep meaning to get one, but never seem to get around to it. It'd be great not to have a mountain of draining dishes/etc. cluttering up the drainer.
You didn't see this then Psybbo http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/uk -englan d-dorse t-22035 736 ?
Thanks Jom...I have a new one arriving Tuesday. This was here when I moved in two years ago and I think it was about ten years old then.
The plug is in a funny place and the socket looks a bit DIY as some other things were so I'll get this all fitted properly and safely.
Something certainly fried by the smell...it was awful.
