Another member of the Poo Panel just phoned, apologised for not calling me sooner...they hadn't got my number. I did all this with a different member yesterday.....and the day before.
They will be along to assess Mum's incontinence pad needs in mid September as she only went into their System One on the 9th of August and that was the first they knew of her condition. This is the normal time between a request and an assessment.
I told her that I was asked to supply pads on July 25th as the Poo Panel was dragging its heels then and the staff at the home have shown me faxes to and from the Poo Panel.
She doesn't know what has gone wrong but as I have raised concerns she has arranged for a bulk emergency supply of pads to be delivered to the
home for my mother....on Monday.
While I was typing this I had another call from the Poo Panel asking if I was the daughter of Mrs X...resident at ???? Home. For my sins..I am.
This was to tell me they were going to try to arrange a visit to the home on Sept. 10th but in the meantime an extra large bulk emergency supply of pads will be sent to the home on....Tuesday. She was surprised at my emails and phone calls as my mother isn't in their system.....They don't know who she is.... ????
I suggest you avoid the A14 on Monday and Tuesday as lorry loads of incontinence pads will be rushing to a little care home in Northants...:-)

Good grief, right and left hand!
Stunning antipathy and disorganisation in equal measure. The Poo panel really are poo.
Or more appropriately a**e and elbow.
I didn't mean antipathy did I?
Lol @ Gness.
Its really all or nothing isn't it. X
Favourite saying here- They couldn't organise a "booze-up" in a brewery.
I admire your patience, gness.
f up and brothel comes to mind.
Obviously good at that.
gness, did you laugh or cry? Or were you too incensed for either?
Local press?
Lol gness, total incompetence or rather a case of one not knowing what the other is doing, too many chiefs not enough indians etc,at least they should not run out after Tuesday for a while as long as they don't misappropriate them for someone else's use who may be in the same predicament as your Mum.
Success, of sorts. Well done gness. It just goes to show that persistence pays its reward in the end.
Ye gods, ended up here by mistake (must have clicked as latest posts moved). The first few words caught my imagination and I looked at your other post. I have Mum in a care Home in one of the neighbouring counties, I cannot believe what you have been through. Each time Mum's continence problems have worsened they have just advised me and told me that they have increased the pad size. The last time was when she decided to hit out at anyone who tried to get her up in the night for the commode and they did not think the distress to her was worth it. I am sure they just got on with it and did not go through anything like you have suffered.
I think you need to ask the Home why all this is going on, they must hold supplies of all sizes.

A break from sewing which is calming....:-)
Well I did smile when I got the second call...it was as if it was all new to them...
Ubasses...the staff have been boxing and coxing and I have been supplying...while we wait and wait and......
It seems that the size and quantity of pads has to be prescribed...after much assessing of the need! Her prescription, I am told, is for small ones but now she needs the large size.
I have been told so much more than I have posted...especially about the reasons for delays happening...such as....
"Gness...sometimes a home uses the wrong name when applying to us such as calling a resident Peggy when we know her as Margaret and then we can't carry out the assessment because we don't know who Peggy is."
I think it was at that point I really knew I had my work cut out to get any sensible explanation!
However....the home will soon be under a huge pile of large incontinence pads.. just when we may have to move Mum...and I am taking the bloody things with me if I have to hire a man with a van! x
