ISP's in the Uk have been told to bar access via searches to TPB, it has not been shut down A quick search for TPB proxy should get you there Same applies to Kickass There is a version of Tor for FF which is what Iggy is referrring to google is your friend !

It's off topic as I don't know legal download / streaming services outside the UK but pirate bay hasn't actually closed down, they continue to move their service to different countries and have recently celebrated 10 years in operation.
