Daft hound has cost me a fortune today in bones and toys, 2 of which he has already 'killed'.

I have bought some kongs that he has made last 2 days - can any dog owners reccommend any toys for me?

oh ha ha
It'll probably be more cost effective to go to Primarni and get a few pair of cheap slippers ;)

No idea about tough dog toys though, my mutt grew out of chewing fortunately, our old Dobbie ate the wall though :D

lol rocky , he has already had 3 pairs of my shoes!!!

I remember having a ball for Shaney which was quite large ,about as big as a football.
It made silly noises and you could stuff treats into it .He couldn't chew it up because it was too big for him to get his gnashers round .He trundled about with it for ages . I can't think of the name of it though ! Boomer ball or something like that .Have a look on Amazon under dog toys .

cheers shaney will look out for it.
My experience with my Yorkie is that he will chew hard toys, until the floor is covered in very small pieces of brightly coloured plastic, which buggers up the Dyson something dreadful. But soft toys seem to last a little longer.

Vets tell us that this is caused by boredom but that is just a lot of blo0dy horlicks....said Yorkie will sit on the hearth rug, when I am watching television and chew till his hearts content. I should add that he is 8 years old this year.

Dogs....who would have them ?
Buy some cheap soft toys from a charity shop
Have a look on amazon, typing in indestructible toys for dogs. The boomer balls are great. Tilly has had hers for years. However, she did drive us mad chasing it around the wooden floors in the house. We now let her play with it on the patio. She's really good at dribbling it. She loves it.
Our Jack Russell X (11 months old) is a bugger with toys, nothing lasts! Only thing we can leave her with is a stags horn (cost about £4.50) Tougher than old boots, doesn't splinter and lasts! We also bought her a ball from pets at home, but dont leave it with her but has knobbly bits on it so she doesnt pull it a apart in 5 mins! It's the only one thats last and cost £2.99! But we never leave her with it!
Funny you should say that. I bought Zac three tennis balls, 5 chews and some Wagg today. One of the tennis balls is wrecked and the chew lasted about 10 mins.
That is pretty damn cool :-)
Mikey444, do you not know the Yorkie Charter?

Allow me....

1. If I like it, it's mine.
2. If it's in my mouth, it's mine.
3. If I had it a little while ago, it's still mine.
4. If I can take it from you, it's mine.
5. If I saw it first, it's mine.
6. If you have something, and put it down, it becomes mine.
7. If I should chew something, all of the pieces become mine.
8. If it used to be yours, get over it.
9. If it's broken, it's yours.
10. If it's edible, it is ALWAYS mine.
When Max was a pup he went through a chew anything spell. One day Trish arrived home with a large hard rubber "turkey" leg which was labeled as virtually indestructible. It lasted about half an hour until Max had reduced it to a trail of rubber bits scattered around the house and garden. Then without us really noticing he just stopped chewing things and became a perfectly well behaved boy.
