Lovely Teacher!
13 Answers
My number two granddaughter starts primary school in September. Her teacher has sent all the new starters a postcard from his holiday in Florida, saying how much he is looking forward to seeing them soon.
How lovely and thoughtful is that?

He sounds really nice and caring.I'll never forget my first teacher in Primary School even 70+ years on.She was a dragon and seemed to enjoy wielding the tawse (belt). We were all scared of her and were glad to move on to the next teacher who was a darling. I'm sure your granddaughte r will be looking forward to starting school.

Primary teachers are OK and then in our time they sort of turned into Brian Glover the sports master in 'Kes' - which is now used in colleges for how 'we' look at 'them'
We had Connie - long since dead who liked locking up children in 'the little room' - with the memorable words - Get into the little room ya stuppid duffer !
But it is incredible - we do remember the good ones !
Illtyd Trethowan - famous theologian who had to teach us English
Joseph Rhymer - famous theologican who had to teach us English
Claude Ensor physicist who wrote the 1936 Enc Brit entry on EM radiation, he taught us what a Fourier series was when I was 14.
J Rhymer wrote the Illustrated Bible History which I notice is still in print when he wasnt trying to get us to write English - and also a long series, The Books of the Bible in the order in which they were written, which I note is still in Amazon
