I've just got everything ready to make a lemon sponge and realised i've run out of soft marg. Can I use veg oil instead and use the 'all in one' method? I'm using 4oz caster sugar 2 eggs 4 oz SR flour and normally would be 4oz soft marg -would 4 fluid oz oil be the same?

they worked out great -thankyou
Thanks for that themag- I'd never have thought of that. Would it work with making crumble mix too?
It always says on the pack, suitable for baking. Check it out.
@anne...no-you couldn't use oil for crumble mix,no more than you could use it for pastry. It would liquify even more in baking. I'm sure there is some technical term for it.
