Try here, it'll tell you when you need to go bed in relation to when you're getting up

(apparently)

Uninterrupted sleep would be wonderful. Have been suffering insomnia for ages, more seriously the last two years when mr.c was taken seriously ill.
though I am similar to boxy - bed at 11 - read/radio on until 11.30/45 and then up at 5.30 to 6........one day a week to 6.45
I vary from 4 hours to 16 hours so no perfect amount for me. Just depends on whether or not I can switch my brain off.
I never have the perfect amount of sleep and never wake up feeling 'refreshed'. Everyone knows to give me a wide berth in the mornings.
I suffered from insomnia for years and could go the whole night without getting to sleep.
Since stopping smoking one year ago I now sleep a full eight hours. I don't know why , but it's fantastic.
On that note ....nighty night !..xx
leahbee, how did you give up smoking? Was it pure willpower?
Night Minty xxxx (Sleep well)
I can never find the right amount of sleep. I wake up tired when I have to get up at 6am for work and a bit headachy if I have a lie in at the weekend. If I have a nap during the day, I wake up feeling groggy.
Whatever it is for me, I'm not getting it.
If you wake up refreshed and don't fall asleep during the day, perhaps you're getting enough! We're all different,
For me the perfect amount of sleep is an hour or two more than my old body & brain allows me to have these days.

I think it must be an evolution thing somehow, whereby after a certain age nature forces you to be permanently sleep deprived and thus permanently in a bit of a daze in order that the predators get you and finish you off.
I think our feathered friends have the right idea, go to bed when it gets dark and get up with the lark, lol!
i get 8 now baby is sleeping longer

Bed 0130-0230,
up again 0630-0700.
Seems to work for me.
Is that dog naps? lol!
I go to bed around 12.30am, read for 20 minutes. I sleep for around 6 hours and am woken by the alarm at 6.50am. That's about right for me, if I go to bed any earlier I very restless.

Luckily I rarely have disturbed sleep but if I do, I can manage on a little less, but need minimum of 5hours really.
