I have quite a bad fear of dogs, I wouldnt say a phobia as such as som dogs I am ok with. I dont like dogs that jump up or certain types like rotties, dobermans or yappy dogs. Two of my closest mates got puppies last year, now they are quite big and jump up and go mental so I dont go round their houses anymore. One of these mates is due to give birth in October and I would love to go see her and baby when he's born but I know I will panic. I get myself in such a state. I have just seen a download programme on Paul McKennas site for £15.00 to help overcome fear of dogs. Do you think its worth it? Would you try it and have you tried any hypnotherapy where it has worked?

when I go round there if my bloke is with me he plays with the dog making it more skatty and that makes me more nervous. I've known both dogs since puppies but still couldnt get used to them. I'm ok out walking if I can see dogs on a lead, but the rottweiler with the owner in a wheelchair and off lead down my road scares hell out of me. I think if I had children though and a dog was about I'd be very protective over my child and my fear may calm down a bit. Maybe I will get the download cant hurt to try, and then my friends can see I'm doing everything I can.
If I come in contact with a strange dog I say to the dog "attack me at your risk" they seem to get the message and scurry off - lol.

I wouldnt even be able to get those words out
heya 4get. I never really struck myself as much of a dog person either, a little bit nervous of dogs unti lI found myself stuck living with a 9 1/2 stone dogue de bordeaux. Even though hes that big he is really a puppy, so can be jumpy. Within 2 days of having him around I found my nervousness round other dogs just disappeared. now Im very confident with all dogs I encounter, even other peoples rotties and german shepherds ( a lifetime of fright for me). Do you know anyone who could let you spend a bit of time around there dog so you can become a little more confident around them. i dont think a Paul Mckenna Dvd will help you learn how to act round them myself even if it somehow cures the dog phobia, the minute you do something you shouldnt around one then you'll probably be back to square one.
Shall I bring my huge dog round to see you 4get!! She must be at least 16" high

What a shame for you 4get. As a child I was scared witless of dogs but one day I decided to confront my own fears and befriend my neighbour's dog. He was a super scruffy mongrel who frightened the life out of me by his barking. Once I got to know him we became inseparable and I was so upset when he died. Now I will make a fuss of any dog. It took me 2 years to win over a long haired chihuahua (I know some would say 'why bother?') but I then became his best mate. I have never been scared of dogs since - large or small. Funny thing is dogs seem to like me too. Sometimes though a problem may exist with the owners rather than their dogs. I wish you well with overcoming your phobia x

Hello 4getmenot. I know this is an old post but I too have a dog phobia and I have tried just about everything to help me. I am thinking of buying the Paul Mckenna download and I wanted to find out from you if you downloaded it and if it helped?

Thanks in advance.
