I need to claim on a tv that was damaged after a lightning storm but I cant prove how much it cost when new.I think it was 199 but will this be enough to satisfy the insurers or do they have their own method in cases such as these ?

It is very common for insurance companies to supply a replacement tv, like for like, instead of giving you money.
