Land' End to John o' Groats

I am getting conflicting answers to the following question so I am posting again.

Is anyone confident they have heard of this place?Is it well known?

Which place, just generally, is almost exactly half way between Land's End and John o' Groats as the crow flies?

Land's End certainly exists. It's in Cornwall, to the west of Penzance, opposite the Scilly Isles and I've been there loads of times.. The headland belongs (or used to) to Peter De Savary. I think the National Turst own it now. If you park your car there, you can get out and walk along the cliff to a look-out point with a fingerpost telling you the distances from Land's End to loads of other places in the world. John o'Groats also exists. if you look at a map of Scotland, in the far north, opposite the Orkney Islands and just below Duncansby Head, looking out onto the Pentland Firth, you'll find it easily. By just looking at my map, I reckon the hlaf way point between the two lies somewhere in the Lake District. Don't know, though. Am interested in why you've had so much trouble getting this confirmed. Both places are really well known.
