Contact List On Phone Or Sim Card

This may be a dumb question but how do I tell if my contacts are stored on the sim or on the phone? TIA.

What model of phone?

Take the sim out then see whats left on it

gsr gives the easy route. But be aware you may have stuff on SIM and in handset. Mobiles tend to show one or the other or both depending on the settings. Apart from that the menus should give you the option of where stuff should be stored: look up where it presently stores stuff.

Thanks for your answers. It's a Samsung Wave. I will try taking out the SIM and see what's left.
