It is illegal for anyone to use a mobility scooter that hasn't got a physical impairment of some kind. They ARE legal to be used on the roads but only the class 3 type ( 8mph ). The smaller ones can only cross from pavement to pavement.Insurance is not compulsory, even if used on the road.
