How quick can I get my passport renewed,needed for travelling later this month

If you make an appointment (essential) at your local passport office you should be able to get a new passport that day.

Note that you will pay a hefty premium for doing so.

There is also a 7 day guaranteed service for a lesser premium. When I used it the appointment was on a Friday and the passport arrived by 8am on the Tuesday.

i got mine done for the 7 day one, and it turned up in 2 days anyways, so if i were you i'd go for that one as it is cheaper!

Most times you will get passport in a week. make sure you tell them when you are travelling. but to be really safe go there and get it done.

I live in Birmingham and a few years ago, on a Saturday, I was flying to Toronto, Canada at 3pm THAT afternoon.

At 7am I looked at my passport and found it had run out.

I hastily packed, drove the 110 miles to London, filled out and gave in my passport form and got a passport back in 3 hours.

Drove to Heathrow and caught the 3pm flight !

PHEW!
