What is it with these neanderthal's? Is it a case of stiffer sentencing required or making clubs play certain derby matches behind closed doors?
Ok, the ordinary fan will suffer, but that in turn may encourage more of them to inform on these 'fans' when trouble does occur and hopefully lead to them being weened out altogether?
I went to town yesterday, where our local derby (non league) match had kicked off at 1 o'clock. At 16:20 the local force helicopter was STILL hovering over the ground whilst small pockets of fans were milling about the area.
What a waste of Police resources and manpower.

Then there wer dozens of 'disturbances' up and down the country every Saturday regular as clockwork
The fact that we have a news story of a couple of dozen Stoke fans fighting shows that it has worked

No professional football match should be played before a live audience. The disruption caused to thousands of people every other Saturday is simply outrageous.
There are enough ways for football to be "enjoyed" by people wishing to watch it without allowing tens of thousands of them to congregate in a small area. I would also add that the showing of football on TV in pubs and bars should also be prohibited. There are a number of laws and regulations which apply specifically to sporting venues (which help but are not completely successful in preventing trouble) but these do not apply to pubs where "fans" gather in force to watch the so-called beautiful game.
