Nokia 6230i Problem

Hi

I got this phone a while ago but went back to my old one cause I just couldnt get on with it. Today I've decided to give it another shot, but am annoyed by a texing problem it has. When using predictive text, when you press a 3, 4,5,6,7,8 or 9 key, the first 'letter' to come up is a star '*' - which can become very annoying! Is this a problem with the software that can be repared or what? I cant see that its useful to have 7 shortcut keys for a star?!

That is annoying. What I find most annoying is when you press for a capital letter for the start of a word, like someone's name, and it stays on capitals. The previous 6230 didn't do this, and its just not useful.

There is no way around these two annoyances, they are software features that can't be selected off. Eventually you get used to it.

Can I not send it away to have a software upgrade? It is just really annoying, esp. with the slowness of the phone.
