I've managed to do without a credit card for years. I think they are such a risk to forget or not get around to paying it all off before they charge. But I stopped using my last one when it was bought out and the new owners insisted I register the new card receipt. I had no idea and went through the embarrassment of having my card refused in a shop. No way was I going to bother again.
