Are there any age restrictions on attending live performances such as Rock Concerts in the same way as there are for the cinema screenings.

Not generally but it depends on the act you are going to see. Some venues also have age restrictions at certain events, but this is more to do with health and safety than the shows content.
It usually depends on the venue. Where I see most of my gigs in sheffield at the leadmill most gigs you need to be 18 as its a night club. If it's an arena / city hall then I would imagine any age really, with a bit of common sence. I suggest you call the venue, and ask them there.

Venues can restrict audiences to over-eighteens if they have an alcohol licence - although if the band is suitable for a younger audience, they may restrict to over-fourteens for safety reasons.

As souldriver suggests, ask on a gig-by-gig basis to be sure you and your companions can get in.

Not sure about rock concerts but there's certainly age restrictions on comedy shows, eg no under 18 is allowed to go and see Roy 'Chubby' Brown. Not that anyone should want to go and see him, however old they are.
