I think perhaps what you mention should be called the sixth sense, and all the paranormal stuff about seeing dead people and reading minds etc should be the seventh sense - (the number fits better anyway lol)
i think lines are blurred but i believe one is definitely a natural and normal phenomenon and is noticed most by more sensitive people and when it is particularly evident.
i guess think of all the millions of times you have not been aware, of all the times someone rings and you haven't just thought of them, of all the times someone has come up behind you and made you jump etc. We only recall the times it 'worked'. Some people also remember it and are intrigued by it, others it is instantly forgotten and unimportant.
i think you have to be in the right 'open' frame of mind, and that it is possible for anyone to tune in to these things.
Joko-you're so right.
I had experienced a powerful sense of deja vu in my local butchers' and decided to consult a hypnotherapist.
He put me under the 'fluence' and proceeded to regress me .
Imagine my dismay when he informed me that, in a previous life,I had been a pork pie!!!!
....... and a small pork pie at that!!!
definately believe that we have a sixth sense. my brother lives in spain and i can always feel when there is something wrong with him either physically or emotionally, the same thing happens with my sisters but is not as acute. at the moment he has just had chemo and guess who started feeling sick thursday 10th ,yes me and when i checked with my brother the next day he had started feeling sick and queasy due to his chemo also, since then whenever he feels ill so do i,
Apparently we take in loads more info than we are aware off and filter the unimportant bits out, so I think thats where those sixth sense feelings come from. So take the example of feeling someones watching you, somewhere you've taken that info in, but your not consious of it, so it becomes more of a feeling. Thats my theory anyway.
When I'm out driving I can usually tell when someone is going to do something stupid before they do it. I was driving to work the other day and I just knew that the driver who was waiting to pull out of a side road would pull out even though I was driving towards them. Guess what, they did! but I avoided a very nasty accident because I just knew that they were going to do it. Anybody else had this?

there is an article, called the haunted brain, about experiments in sensory manipulation and depravation.
it recreates these 'spooky feelings' in a lab.
