As I said in your other thread, it's a great photograph. However,I can't really think of ideal names for them. Best I can do is a sort of follow-on from your username......Dilly and Dally. :-)

Tilly...don't wish to argue with Al...but newts and some frogs will overwinter in a pond so if it ices over keep the ice broken. The female prefers to clear off to a sheltered and damp spot to hibernate but the male usually likes to dig into the mud in the bottom of the pond. The usual cause of deaths in winter is lack of oxygen.
Yes, I did, katburd. In fact when I took the photo with my trusty little Canon Powershot I thought that Frog Two was eating a moth. As it turned out it was a leaf.
Thank you, Al. Now I know why they keep appearing in the shrubbery and flower beds when I'm gardening. They don't half make you jump. I've decided not to name them. I don't want any attachment to them. I have enough to worry about.

gness....We aint going to argue or quarrel on this one. I was somewhat generalising because frogs can overwinter in deep muddy ponds and absorb oxygen through their skin. However, I doubt that many of us have gardens with really large ponds and hence my implying an overwintering under leaves or other such decaying material.
Back again to Tilly..... It is a remarkable picture and to hear that the frogs were photographed in a potting tray is almost unbelievable. Furthermore, I am confident that her delightful friends will find a suitable environment to survive the winter.
