Problams with outlook.pst file
A while back I saved my outlook.pst file to an external hard drive (E) so that some maintenance could be
carried out on my laptop. I now have my laptop back and am wanting to set up outlook again. It is Microsoft Office Outlook 2003. I thought I had managed it and have received and sent emails successfully since. However, now I am receiving the following message each time I fire up Outlook 'The path specified for the file
E:\New Briefcase\My Documents\Email\outlook.pst is not valid'. The E drive is not currently connected. To get round this I 'OK' the message, cancel the 'Create/Open Personal Folders File' window, click on Send/Receive and away I go.
Questions:
How do I avoid this message each time Outlook fires up?
Do I need to connect my E Drive to the laptop and copy it somewhere?
If so. by copying this across will the amendments made to my calendar, filing of recently received emails be lost? If so how do I get round this?
Also what settings do I change so that emails are searched for without prompting i.e. so that I don't have to click on the Send/Receive icon? Thanks

I'd suggest you backup your current Outlook files to be safe - call the file Outlook_131007.pst
Restore the previous .pst file with File -> Import and Export -> Another File and then navigate to your old .pst file. There should be an option to replace duplicates.
To send and receive automatically go to Tools -> Send/Receive Settings -> Define Send/Receive and tick the schedule automatic send/receive box.

Thanks Plowter.
I did a search on .pst files and found three, one called archive (1392KB), one called outlook (130861KB) and the third called tony.brett (25809KB).
The last two had a last accessed date of today.
Excuse my ignorance but which one should I use and how do I save it? Having used Explore to find the above three files I dont have an option to save them as some other name.
