How to burn MPEG or AVI to DVD

How do I burn MPEG or AVI to DVD? I know I need to use a converter but does anyone know where I can get one for free?

You can either use software like PowerProducer and that will re-encode and burn for you, however it's commerical.

Or you can use AVI2DVD (which is freeware) to convert the files into .VOB format first and then use your normal burning software to create the DVD.
