Proms Last Night Causes Winter?
8 Answers
I have long observed that the Last Night of The Proms causeS the end of summer and even Autumn. This year typifies it perfectly. Maybe it's fate punishing us for certain cranks who will not accept that we are a tiny third world country with their singing of boring arrogant victoriana-like songs - that should set the cat amongst the pigeons, lol.

I think all those middle classed people bobbing up and down to classical nautical arrangements causes problems with the mid-atlantic drift leading to autumnal weather patterns.

Thank you for your great answers. So funny pmsl.
Surprised that I was not bomarded with protests from imperialist dreamers and so-callled "music lovers". Proms in summer are great with marvellous music for the general public - decades ago when in London, I attended many.
But that last night curse....yuck!
I'll wait a short while before choosing best answer but will be difficult. I'll rule out ban tho' it's tempting. Certainly a ban on TV and Radio even though we have off-buttons.
What must the foreigners think? Answer not expected (rhetorical) but chuck in another joke if you wish.

How nice for me to touch a sympathetic chord for a change (yup, doctorb, a bit disappointed - a well-mannered stir up can be fun, lol). Booldawg right re: other tacky shows (memo to self: don't mention the Vatican!). Munich Beer Festival is a civilised idea - dix pointes to.......Germany!
And so to best answer - so difficult. Luv the woodwind, sprouts etc.
But incorporation of chaos theory (the butterly wing-flappping effect) is a credible expanation of this wierd phenomenon. The effect of all that rhythmic bobbing up and down must send amplified symptathetic vibrations world-wide, not just here. I predict New Jersey and NY City will be frozen in all winter and Sunamis across the Pacific as as a consequence.
So gold-plated Best Answer must go to Booldawg!
Kindest regards,

P.S. Okay folks New Jersey and NY City freeze over every year but dunno about their weather pre Sir Henry Wood, lol.
