There are several sewing people on this site - you'll find them posting in the Hobbies section under Society and Culture topic, down the left hand side.
I used to do cross stitch but I don't find it as rewarding as needlepoint/ tapestry or knitting these days. Never knew what do so with the stuff when I'd made it.
Hi.
Gosh, where do I start?
I've done several Victorian samplers and samplers for new babies with the name, DOB, weight etc as commission work.
I've just completed a load cross stitch book marks in aperture cards to sell in a friend's shop. They are all my own design.
I used to love doing Mirabilia designs, unfortunately my eyesight has deteriorated to the point where it is almost impossible to see the holes in the linen any longer :( I need to buy a craft magnifier and get back to it, I have lots of half finished designs.
I have a daylight lamp boxtops, had one for years :) It really is the eyesight which is the problem, I am long sighted so can't see things close up very well. I have reading glasses which help but on there own are not enough. I'm saving up to buy an 2 in one lamp and magnifier.
Daffy, have you thought about varifocals? I've had them for several years and although admittedly I still take my specs off altogether for really close work, it has made life in general so much easier!
