36 holes of gold and then a 1.5 mile walk into town (and back) to eat - I can say that I am officially pooped, the winds running at 25 gusting 40 mph to make the game interesting.

As I sit here, I am 3 up, ahead of another round (same conditions apparently) tomorrow morning. However, despite all the aches and groans, the joy of seeing one's flog ball disappear into the lush undergrowth, the views from Gullane over the Firth of Forth were spectacular, as was North Berwick setting in the sun.

Am I insane to play 3 full rounds in a day and a half?

Think that the locals think we are mad.

My sis gave me two antique wicker-cane chairs to cart back to the SW - just what I needed in the car. So at Gullane, in part to have the space to put the clubs back into the car, I lifted them out - we used them to sit on to change our shoes, drawing some odd looks at these eccentrics. We decided to repeat the process when we came back here.
I hope you've taken great care not to offend the sensitive souls of Gullane by speaking the name of their wee toon phonetically Mr Fan.
It's pronounced Gillin. Apparently. :)
That sounds great Dtc, madly eccentric changing your shoes that way.

Has anyone ever seen a seagill? Its Gullane!!
If we're going down THAT road then they're gulls, not seagulls.
Some of the locals are a wee bit pan-loafy but they know where they live.
