Bootmgr Is Missing On Laptop Startup.

I've been messing around with a laptop I got, its a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile with Vista Home Basic.

When I got it there was no operating system and I managed to load it with the Vista. Then I couldn't connect to internet but that also got resolved thanks to this thread http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Technology/Question1276397.html

Now, however, when I turn it on it just says
BOOTMGR is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart

But when I do this it simply comes around to the same message. I tried to reload Vista but I get the same message and I've tried to enter Safe Mode but also just get this message.

Is there any other way to get past this, perhaps via the set up? Any help greatly appreciated.

The PC is looking for an operating system to load (ANY operating system), and it looks in various places like the hard disk, the CD/DVD drive, the diskette drive (if there is one), the USB drive, or the network.

The PLACES it goes to look for the operating system is listed in the BIOS.

There will be a "boot order" in the BIOS and this gives the order of WHERE it looks for the operating system.

If, for example, you have removed your hard disk from boot order it wont go and look there for Windows.

So go into your BIOS and make sure your hard disk is set as the first device in your boot order.
