Show-off time. Do you like the clock that I made out of an old dinner plate?

Well done. I think you were right to use black hands. Gold would be too much.
ta stewey, - daft question, but do they work with a decent cordless?

yep, thought of doing the rounds of charity shops for guinea pig plates

Thanks for your responses, people. Now I'm going to follow HS's advice and sashay o'er the field for some wobbly-pops...Cheers.

A good 18v drill is what you need. To get the bit to initially "bite" into the plate, hold the drill at about a 45 deg. angle and then go vertically once it bites in. You don't need too much pressure.

I forgot to add to keep the plate filled with water for lubrication. Anyway, I'm off.
And you got the hands dead centre!
It's ok, if you like that sort of stuff, sorry. Birdies on the hour, with appropriate calls would be fab !
One of these will do the job and they're cheaper. It's a tile/glass bit.

WOW! Very pretty. I see you have a lot of time on your hands. :)

The place cost $1.00 and did the diamond bit cost...? lol
Very nice Stewey, you could start a business!
Did you buy the clock parts as a kit? How did you stick the workings on the back - y'see we all want to have a go!
I really do hope you haven't drilled through a priceless peice of porcelain.
