Now that the party whip is to be withdrawn from this tiresome man, Is it all over for Mr Bloom ?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-24175041

Far be it for me to offer any help or advice to UKIP, but why on earth doesn't the Party completely disown this twit, so that they can get on with their work ?

"Is it all over for Mr Bloom ? "

I do hope not. He's the most entertaining thing in politics since Jim Hacker :-)

The reason they don't disown him? Could it be that there are too many people rather like him in the party ...
Sympathy is due. He hasn't got '***' will be seized on by the media. In context, the remark was harmless enough. When the women agreed with one who said she didn't clean behind the frig' he replied that they were sluts i.e. slovenly women. That was clearly not meant as either serious or suggesting that they were immoral.

As to only whites appearing on campaign literature, I never knew that having non-whites on it was a legal or political requirement, though it is conventional now to have that.
Curious censorship: the word is accepted in the plural but not in the singular !
I think this is a case of one step too far for Mr B. I agree that the "sluts" thing seems a lot worse taken out of context. But I suspect Nige has been getting more and more alarmed about him, and finally flipped.
Bloom hasn't sabotaged UKIP, it is all rather unfortunate, but the real villains are the media in interpreting his comments as being sinister. At a champagne lunch which he provided he said laughingly, If you women don't clean behind your fridges, you're all a load of sluts, to which they (the women) all laughed. Attempting to make this into an insult to women is ridiculous, and if I was so hounded by that clown Michael Crick, I'd be tempted to tap him on the head with more than a pamphlet.
He does seem particularly unsuited to belonging to a party and engaging brain before speaking.
It is clear that the press now expect him to make gaffes, and he obliges.
He is clearly causing UKiP more harm than good. They should dismiss him from the party, except he is one of its few MEPs and raking in large amounts of uk taxpayer funded expenses.
That would be a...who cares!
Isn't Mr Bloom now an ex-MEP? How ironic - UKIP member punished by being banned from the EU :-)
"though it is conventional now to have that. "

you mean conventional as in pandering to the PC thought control mob
He is still an MEP they can't take that away from him until the next Euro election he is now just an independant MEP, he has no one but himself to answer to now so expect more c*ck ups.
I concur with what Khandro said. Considering that there is an ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria and court cases and reviews involving the horrific neglect of children I was amazed at the airtime this was given on Sky and the BBC. It certainly showed that UKIP must now be deemed by some to be a mainstream threat to the other parties.
I rather think it's raised the profile of the party still further in showing that they dealt with the problem very quickly over what was essentially a storm in a teacup, unlike the Plebgate scandal that festered over a dispute of the actual words used.
Thanks for the correction about Godfrey's MEP status - I wonder if he'll stand as "Independent UKiP" "Real UKiP", the "Godfreys in Bloom" party or whatever ...
Might be interesting.

Anyway, UKiP supporters here should not be having a go at the press - only hours before this kerfuffle , Mr Farrago was telling the faithful at their conference that they were the party opposed to "political correctness" and "champions of free speech". And yet it's Mr Farrago himself who throws a wobbly: not blaming the press at all but blaming his own man (and comparing him to someone from the TA into the bargain, which seemed mighty odd. Should the TA not now complain? :-)
So there's one promise up the Swanee in hours ... :-)
