High Distolic Bp Reading After A Fall
14 Answers
My 85 yr odl mum had a fall 2 weeks ago. bardly hurt her ribs etc. Went to hospital , had chest x ray, sent home with pain relief.
Has tried to move about the bedroom , had a couple baths, breathing excerses.
This week her BP had been higher than normal, with a much higher distolic reading.( she is on BP meds )
Any one medical help with why her BP is nihger now, and why the distolic could be much higher than usual.
( i know she need to see GP but wondered if anyone can put my mind at ease tonight
thanks

Well, she is already on BP lowering medication (don't know which one or what dose) and then has a traumatic episode and her BP has risen.
\\\ I would probably just keep an eye on it for a few days, \\
I think that is good advice from pixie until we are aware of her medication and can then give a more accurate opinion.

HI sqad,
thanks for replying,, was told to wait till morning for you..
ohh wouldnt dream of stopping her meds... was inclined to increase the dose to 100 last night..
she was on 100mg to start( jan 13 when was changed from another tab) but had a massive arguement with GP over the side afffects so reduced the tab to 50 rather than change it ( as i requested ) that was in May so dont think its cos the dose is too low..as was getting good reading till a week after the fall.
sorry if i am going on a bit...but better to have the full story :-)
